The Concept of Harmony, God’s Divine Intention

Meaning
During the making of His creation, God ushered humanity into a domain where they might have harmony with all of nature. Because of God’s immense love for His creation, the harmony God coveted and created for humanity was fourfold in nature. This included harmony with God, harmony with self, harmony with others and harmony with nature. At the beginning of creation, humanity was in perfect harmony with God, with self, with others and with all of creation. In addition, God created humanity with a free will, in order that we could freely choose to love Him.

However, this prevailing harmony was contingent upon obedience to God’s will. God because of His love and harmony with His creation, placed humanity in the Garden of Eden, where they could have a close daily relationship with Him. Most importantly, humanity who is fashioned after the fullness of God’s image, prior to the fall, while living in the Garden of Eden, had the capacity for a perfect response to God’s will. This was the divine intention of God. God intended and created a world that was in complete harmony, for the good of humanity and all of His creation. A creation, which in the beginning before the fall, was in close relationship with Him.

“And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being. The Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden, and there He put the man whom He had formed. And out of the ground the Lord God made every tree grow that is pleasant to the sight and good for food. The tree of life was also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.” (Genesis 2:7-9)

“And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place. Then the rib which the Lord God had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man. And Adam said: ‘This is now bone of my bones And flesh of my flesh; She shall be called Woman, Because she was taken out of Man.’ Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh. And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.” (Genesis 2:21-25)
